Her books are important to so many people and really are what got many of us into reading contemporary romance books. I have read and loved most of her books already, but I made it a point recently to read (or in a lot of cases, reread) all of her books. As long as you like to read this book will be a considerable option.Everyone knows that Sarah Dessen is the queen of contemporary romance and adorable (and often darker or more complex), coming-of-age summer stories. I definitely recommend this book to teenage girls, Who I feel can relate to it or to people who just want a good book to read. This book is beyond phenomal and grabs your attention from the start. Although one thing I would change is the beginning, I would have probably started the novel with Scarlett talking to Michael one last time. Sarah Dessen was a genius in the way the book was written. I truly loved the book I feel like it's easy to relate to as a teen. At the beginning of the book Halley had an extraordinary relationship with her mom, like the one I have with my mom. A trait that is only shown in some parts of this book is well behaved. Halley is intelligent, and I consider myself intelligent. Sarah Dessen made it easy for me to relate to Halley in certain traits. She helps Scarlett through the whole journey even after the babies born. That's one of the reasons why Halley is my favorite character, she finds a way to maintain focus on herself and help others. Because Halley really loves Scarlett, Halley has been going back and forward with Scarlett's personal life and hers. Michael was Scarlett's boyfriend, and Scarlett has been going through a rough time after his death because he left her pregnant. This story starts of with Scarlett informing Halley that Michael Sherwood died. Halley has always been the one to need help now Scarlett needs Halley to be there. Now Scarlett is going through a crisis what is Halley to do. Halley is shy and she really doesn't show herself to people in addition, she lives with her overprotective parents. Scarlet is outgoing and fun, she lives only with her mom, Who doesn't really show she cares. This novel was published in 1998, it reveals " The language of solace, and comets and The girls all become in the end." Scarlett, one of the main characters has helped her best friend, Halley, through thick and thin. "Someone Like You" A novel by Sarah Dessen is a impressive example of true friendship.
